Historic Old Town Retreat

When Jacksonville-based neurosurgeon Bruce Hartwig purchased a 1907 home on Frances Street, known to neighbors and local historians as “The House of Seven Gables,” he wanted to make sure it would last for at least another century. To that end, he hired local architect Rob Delaune, a specialist in Key West’s restrictive regulations for historic preservation, to not only restore the home to its former glory, but to build an addition in the same design motif suitable for today’s upscale living.
